Mudra For T.B (Tuberculosis)

Tuberculosis is an infectious disease that usually affects the lungs. Tuberculosis is the second most common cause of death in the world compared to other diseases caused by a single infectious agent.

Causes of tuberculosis

Here are some important points about tuberculosis.

The World Health Organization estimates that 9 million people in the world contract tuberculosis each year, of which 3 million are "lost" by health systems.

Tuberculosis is one of the three leading causes of death in women aged 15 to 44 years
The symptoms of tuberculosis (cough, fever, night sweats, weight loss, etc.) can be mild for several months, and people with tuberculosis can contract up to 10 to 15 people per year through close contact during this time.

Tuberculosis is a pathogen in the air, that is, the bacteria that causes TB can be transmitted from one person to another in the air.

What is tuberculosis?

Tuberculosis usually affects the lungs, although it can spread to other organs of the body.
Doctors distinguish two types of tuberculosis infections: latent and active.

Latent tuberculosis bacteria remain inactive in the body. They do not cause symptoms and they are not contagious, but they can be activated.

Active TB: bacteria cause symptoms and can be transmitted to other people.

It is said that about one-third of the world population suffers from latent tuberculosis. There is a 10% chance that latent TB will be activated. However, this risk is for people with weakened immune systems, that is, people living with HIV or malnutrition or who smoke much more.

Tuberculosis affects all ages and all regions of the world. However, the disease mainly affects young adults and people living in developing countries. In 2012, 80% of reported cases of TB occurred in only 22 countries.

Signs of T.B

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the symptoms of tuberculosis are:

  • Feeling sick or weak

  • Loss of appetite and weight loss.

  • Chills, fever and night sweats.

  • strong cough that lasts 3 weeks or more

  • Chest pain

Tuberculosis can also affect other parts of the body. The symptoms depend on the affected part.

Symptoms

In a latent state, tuberculosis has no symptoms. When tuberculosis is active, cough, fever, and other symptoms may appear.

Although tuberculosis usually affects the lungs, it can affect other parts of the body and the symptoms vary accordingly.

Without treatment, TB can spread to other parts of the body through the bloodstream:

Bones: pain in the spine and the destruction of the joints can occur.

The brain: This can lead to meningitis.

Liver and kidneys: can alter the filtering functions of waste and cause the formation of blood in the urine.

The heart: it can alter the ability of the heart to pump blood, resulting in cardiac tamponade, a life-threatening disease.

Mudra For T.B (tuberculosis)

Tuberculosis generally affects the lungs, but can also affect other parts of the body.
Most infections do not have symptoms, known as latent tuberculosis. About 10% of latent infections progress to active disease which,
if left untreated, kills about half of those infected. The classic symptoms of active TB are a chronic cough with blood-containing sputum,
fever, night sweats, and weight loss.

The practice of Prithvi mudra or Prithvi-vardhak mudra is helpful to overcome tuberculosis.
