Mudra For Bradycardia

Bradycardia is a heart rhythm that is slower than normal. The hearts of adults at rest often beat 60 to 100 times per minute. If you suffer from bradycardia, your heart beats less than 60 times per minute.

 

Bradycardia can be a serious problem if the heart does not pump enough oxygenated blood to the body. However, in some people, bradycardia does not cause symptoms or complications.

An implanted pacemaker can correct bradycardia and help your heart maintain an adequate rhythm.

Symptom

If you have bradycardia, your brain and other organs may not get enough oxygen, which can cause the following symptoms:

  • Near-fainting or fainting (syncope)

  • Dizziness

  • Fatigue

  • Dyspnoea

  • Chest pain

  • Confusion or memory problems.

  • Get tired quickly with physical activity.

  • When a slow heart rate is normal


A resting heart rate of less than 60 beats per minute is normal for some people, especially healthy young adults and trained athletes. Bradycardia is not a health problem for them.

 

 

A series of disorders can cause signs and symptoms of bradycardia. It is important to obtain a quick and accurate diagnosis and adequate care. Ask your doctor if you or your child have symptoms of bradycardia.

The causes


Bradycardia can be caused by:

  • Heart damage associated with ageing.

  • Damage to cardiac tissue due to heart disease or heart attack

  • Heart disease present at birth (congenital heart defect)

  • Heart tissue infection (myocarditis)

  • A complication of cardiac surgery.

  • Hyperthyroidism (hypothyroidism)

  • Imbalance of chemicals in the blood, such as potassium or calcium.

  • Repeated breathing problems during sleep (obstructive sleep apnea)

  • Inflammatory diseases such as rheumatic fever or lupus

  • Medications, including certain medications for the treatment of other cardiac arrhythmias, hypertension, and psychosis

The Practice of Gyan mudra or Vayu-Vardhak mudra is useful to overcome bradycardia.

How to do Gyan mudra

 

Join the tips of index finger and thumb finger to form Gyan mudra.

 

You have to do mudras with both the hands. A Just simple touch of the tips of the finger is enough to get results of mudra practice.

 

Duration of mudra practice


 

45 minutes of regular practice or 15 minutes thrice a day.

 

Precautions


If you are a Vata excess person then do this mudra in moderation only.
