The seeds of Cardamom are aromatic, cooling, stimulant, digestive, carminative, stomachic diuretic, cardiotonic, expectorant, abortifacient and tonic.
The Ayurvedic uses of Cardamom and how to use it
Vomiting
Take one glass of water add one cardamom fruit and few ginger pieces boil it. After cooling the mixture take one ounce thrice in a day to get relief from nausea and vomiting.
Stimulate Appetite
Cardamom helps to stimulate appetite. Take few cardamom seeds and few pieces of ginger and add this to your tea to stimulate appetite.
Headache
Take a large cardamom skin and grind it to make a paste. Apply this paste on your forehead to get relief from a headache. You may add clove and betel leaf to get fast relief.
Thirst and Hiccups
Take few cardamom seeds and one glass of water. Boil this mixture and drink to quench long-standing thirst primarily due to a fatty meal. This combination is also useful to get relief from hiccups.
Flatulence
Chewing cardamom seeds will help to get relief from flatulence.
Urinary disorders
For an excellent diuretic, mix a tsp of cardamom seed powder and amla juice and drink twice a day,
Heart disorders
According to Ayurveda Cardamom is a good cardiac tonic. Take cardamom root and grind it in a little ghee. It take this every day to strengthen your heart.
Throat irritation
To get relief from throat irritation chew cardamom. It soothes the throat and clears any obstructing phlegm.
