Mudra for Hypothyroidism

Hypothyroidism occurs when the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormone to meet the body's needs. The thyroid is not active.

The opposite is hyperthyroidism, where the thyroid gland produces too much thyroid hormone. However, the association between hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism is complex and can lead to another.

Thyroid hormones regulate the metabolism or energy consumption of the body. When the level of thyroxine is low, many bodily functions slow down.

The thyroid is located in the front of the throat, below the larynx or vocal cords, and has two lobes, one on each side of the trachea.

It is an endocrine gland that consists of special cells that form hormones. Hormones are chemical messengers that transmit information to the organs and tissues of the body and control processes such as metabolism, growth and mood.

The production of thyroid hormones is regulated by TSH, a hormone that stimulates the pituitary gland.

This, in turn, is regulated by the hypothalamus, a region of the brain. TSH ensures that enough thyroid hormones are produced to meet the body's needs.

Here are some important points about hypothyroidism.

  • The thyroid produces two thyroid hormones, TS3 and TS4.

  • These hormones regulate the body's metabolism.

  • The most common cause of hypothyroidism in the United States is Hashimoto's disease.

  • Symptoms of hypothyroidism include fatigue, cold intolerance, and pain in joints and muscles.

Hypothyroidism refers to the insufficient production of hormones in the thyroid gland. It has a wide range of symptoms.

Thyroid hormones affect the systems of multiple organs, so the symptoms of hypothyroidism are varied.

The thyroid gland forms two thyroid hormones, triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4). These regulate the metabolism and also have the following functions:

  • The development of the brain

  • Breathing

  • Functions of the heart and nervous system.

  • Hearing loss

When it occurs in children or adolescents, the signs and symptoms are usually the same as in adults.

But you can also experience:

  • Low growth

  • Late development of the teeth.

  • Poor mental development

  • Delayed puberty

  • Hypothyroidism is developing slowly. The symptoms may go unnoticed for a long time and may be vague and general.

The symptoms vary greatly from one individual to another and are shared by other states. The only way to get a specific diagnosis is to have a blood test.

Hypothyroidism results from the withering or atrophy of the thyroid gland. Women are more prone to thyroid disease.
