The Healing Power of Humor

Dr. Norman Cousins,  Author of Anatomy of an illness, is a very good example of how a person can cure himself of a illness. He had a rare diseases that only 1-in-500 chance of recovery. But his will is not accepted, Dr. Norman Cousin wanted to prove that if there was anything like mind over matter, And He make it possible. He figured if negative emotions can cause negative chemicals in our body, then the reverse must be true. Positive emotions of laughter and happiness will bring positive chemicals in our body.  He discharged from the hospital and rented a hotel and few humorous movies and literally cured himself by laughing.  Medical help is important, but the will of the patient to live is equally important. A funny bone could be a life saver. Besides, it makes life's adversities easier to handle.
