Matsya Mudra, Benefits, How to do And Duration

The practice of Matsya mudra enhances immunity. Mudra is a Sanskrit word the represents" gesture" or "Seal". The practice of mudra has numerous benefits.

Matsya mudra is popular in Bharatanatyam dances.

Mudra, symbolizing the fish (fearlessly floating in the ocean of samsara). The palms look down, the left palm over the right, the thumbs pointing to the sides, the rest fingers are kept together.

Mudra is used in reading the asana-mantra and in a number of other rituals, as "covering" (covering the object, protecting from negative influences).

How to do


Keep your left palm facing downward. Now place your right palm on the back of left palm. Keep all the finger corrected while thumb fingers extended.

Duration


5 minutes to 15 minutes of regular practice is enough to give good results. Best time of the practice of this mudra is morning hours and while doing meditation. You can do it any time if you are busy.
