If you take garlic after a heart attack the cholesterol level will come down. The earlier damage may not be repaired but its consumption will minimize the chances of new attacks.

Medical College, Lucknow in 1966, and a panel of doctors in England in 1968 have stated that onion has been found helpful and beneficial in diseases of the heart. According to them these benefits are due to the presence of essential oil, alipropyl disulphide, catechol, protocatechuic acid, thiopropiono aldehyde, thiocyanate, calcium, iron, phosphorus and vitamins in onion.

Dr M. Ayurvedic treatment for heart diseases

Ayurvedic treatment for heart diseases

The answer is very much given in Ayurveda. Because according to Ayurveda heart is located in the heart chakra which is called Anahata chakra. There is the physical heart and also, the mind is also located in this area. The emotional heart, we say the emotions are also located in the same area. And also,  it is the seat of the soul. which is conscious its keeps as alive. So that means it's not just the physical organ heart and it's not physical things like food, the lake of exercises or physical diseases which affect our heart or cause heart diseases. But there is more to that which we have to consider which unfortunately right now not given much attention but in the modern world.

We all agree that our mind has become more and more stressed. The mind has become more and more anxious. We become more depressed there are more mental problems these days as compared to fifty years ago. So the mind is localized in the same area and mind directly affects our physical heart. Also, that means if we have mental stress it will affect our physical heart. It will create diseases there that means we have to take care of the mind.

I have mentioned many times before in order to keep the mind healthy. It is very important that we understand the word sattva. Sattva is the property of mind which keeps the mind quite relaxed and healthy. There are other two property rajas and tamas. When the mind is dominated in rajas and tamas then the mind is not healthy. The mind is stressed it is active and negative and so many things. Which is not good for our heart. Modern science clinical studies have proved also that whenever we have a lot of stress then it can create heart disease. So, therefore, we need to come back to sattvic foods, sattvic lifestyle and everything should be static.; Something which is relaxing and sattvic aromas which relax the mind. Foods that relaxes your mind, pure food, pure air, pure water grains, vegetables, and fruits.these all are sattvic you can easily find out it's not difficult to find. If  you take sattvic lifestyle then your heart will be more healthy.

Moving to the next level which is the emotional heart. And  it also sattvic emotion. We have negative emotions and positive emotions, negative emotions. Off course lust greed, anger pride, attachment,  grief fear also cause if heart disease. Modern science also confirms emotions also a great role in our heart disease.

Now we have to control negative emotions. In Ayurveda, the method is described to suppress or just keep them low and bring positive emotions to the top. Primary love and compression. Love is the prime emotion which we try to live in the family. Loving our nature, loving others, love your neighbors, all these things we have heard but we don't try to go deep into that. So more love in our life the healthy and happier. So, therefore, we need to try to keep the negative emotions down and keep the positive emotions up.

The simple technique is it you can learn just nourish the prana in the body. Because the prana or the lifeforce plays an important role in our health. we can really make it through pranayama. Breathing technique, Ujjai, anoloma-viloma, etc all these pranayamas definitely keep the negative emotions low and more positivity in your mind. That will also take care of your heart and you will be free from heart diseases.
The heart is a hollow, muscular pump with four cavities each provided at its outlet with a valve, and it function is to maintain the circulation of the blood. It beats at the rate of 72 to 75 per minute in a healthy adult with the rate of respiration being on fourth. It pushes the blood into the arteries which is returned to it through the veins to be sent out again. It completes the circulation of the blood in 15 seconds. Diseases of the heart are many, depending upon which part of the organ is affected. The two commonly known diseases are:

1. Angina pectoris, which is characterized by intense, breath-taking pain, with a feeling of constriction across the chest, cold, choking and feeling of impending death; and

2. A heart attack, a generic term for the failure of the function of the heart which may be ascribed to any one of a dozen or more disorders. But, considering the arduous work which this organ does constantly, and the fact that it never resets completely from the time of its formation till death. It is subject to very few disorders.

The other group of cases is termed functional disorders of the heart. They are:

1. Tachycardia( faster than the normal beating of the heart or palpitation

2. Arrhythmia( irregular heartbeat);

3. Angina pectoris ( pain in the region of the wishbone) due to narrowing of the arteries. Diseases like rheumatism and syphilis can also give rise to heart disease like rheumatism and syphilis can also give rise to heart diseases.

Of these the former( rheumatic fever to give it its proper name) generally strikes children and seldom adults above the age of 18. The syphilitic heart is the result of a venereal disease to which all are prone. Sometimes, functional hypertension caused by the stress of modern life, sedentary habits and irregular and unwise diet, alcohol and other intoxicant substances may lead to a serious cardiac disorder leading to what is known as a heart attack. Diphtheria, TB and disorders of the thyroid glands may also lead to diseases of the heart. Congenital defects in the formation of the heart at birth may also lead to a heart condition. Beri-beri( an acute deficiency of B1 vitamin) may also cause a heart attack.

It the disease of the heart are caused by inflammatory affections, they may be any of the following

1 pericarditis ( swelling of the sheath in which the heart is encased)

2. Myocarditis ( the muscular substance)

3. Endocarditis( inflammation of the lining membrane). Hypertrophy is a condition in which the heart consists in degeneration of the muscular tissues resulting in enfeeblement of the heart's action.

According to Ayurveda, when the Vayu (air) is vitiated and disturbs the balance of Rasa dhatu in the body, the various diseases of the heart are born. Heart diseases in Ayurveda have been classified according to the Dosha, the vitiation of which has caused them. They may be caused by Vayu, Pitta, Kapha, all the three Doshas taken together and certain organisms. The symptoms of the various disorders, in brief, are-

Slight swelling on the face; quickened pulse; fever; a dry cough; pain in the left region.

Coronary Thrombosis( blocking of the artery because of a blood clot): fainting, profuse sweating; cyanosis( blueness of the face and extremities); intense pain; the attack lasts from a few hours to a few days.

Cardiac Dilation( dilation of the heart): hammering of the pulse in the region of the neck; inflammation of the back and the legs; enlargement of the liver; dyspepsia.

Cardiac Hypertrophy: Extreme prostration; exhaustion and other connected symptoms; leading to a final, massive attack which is usually fatal.

Tachycardia and Arrhythmia: Fast and irregular pulse causing distress in breathing.

Extrasystoles: In this disorder, the heart does not contract in its entirety leading to difficulty in breathing; feeling of heaviness in the region of the heart; hiccups.

Bradycardia ( less than normal pulse beats per minute, leading to a suspicion that the heart is about to cease functioning): the pulse in athletes, where it is a sign of extraordinary health; among weak and emaciated persons and in case of a heart block, in which case it is a serious disorder.

Heart Block: An ordinary attack may lead to near unconsciousness with dark spots before the eyes before this patient is total lack of consciousness, stoppage of breathing, cyanosis, dilation of the pupils, rigor. Major risk factors for heart disease

Heart disease  blood pressures one of the major problem in the present time. Here I am sharing the information about the major risk factor for premature heart attacks. There are seven major risk factors for heart disease that you need to be aware of:

Elevated serum cholesterol.

The positive family history of premature coronary artery disease in a first-degree relative(parent or sibling)

Hypertension(high blood pressure)

Cigarette smoking.

Male sex.

Diabetes mellitus.

The presence of definite cerebral vascular and/or peripheral vascular disease.

The other fewer risk factors

Lack of exercise.

Obesity.

Excessive stress.

Type A personality traits. ( Tense,time-conscious,over-achieving, workaholic types who have extreme difficulty relaxing and seem to thrive on stress are type A persons.

All of the risk factors are under our control. Under the supervision of a competent cardiologist, you can follow a program that will mitigate all of those problems.

There are, however, several risk factors that are beyond our control. For example, women are more prone to heart attacks after menopause. During the menstrual phase of life, women generally indicate higher levels of HDL cholesterol(another reason HDL cholesterol is sometimes associated with decreased risk of heart attack and very low rates of premature coronary heart disease. As they grow older, they become more prone to heart attacks and strokes.

Perhaps the most unalterable risk factor for heart disease is heredity.

To avoid this risk factors you have to follow a proper diet and exercise. All in all, you are healthier if you follow a low fat,high-fiber diet and get adequate exercise.

(cerebral vascular disease is defined as the presence of a previous cerebral vascular accident or stroke and/or the documented occurrence of TIAs( transient ischemic attacks of clots or embolisms), the precursor or warning of an impending stroke, peripheral vascular disease refers to atherosclerosis or arteriosclerosis that may involve the blood vessels of the upper and lower extremities.)

Other less serious risk factors include:

8 Lack of exercise.

9. Obesity.

10.Excessive stress.

11.Type A personality traits( Tense, time-conscious, over achieving workaholic types who have extreme difficulty relaxing and seem to thrive on stress, are Type A persons.)

Recently there has been a good deal of discussion about the importance of estrogen and levels of high-density lipoproteins, although it is not known why estrogens confer reduced the risk of heart disease in premenopausal women apparently the menstruating woman’s protection against CHD is not simply related to high levels of estrogen. When estrogen is administered to male patients to achieve the same blood levels of estrogen as their female counterparts, the amount of coronary protection does not necessarily transfer to those men.

Perhaps the most unalterable risk factor for heart disease is heredity.

The cholesterol-lowering program stratifies risk according to age, risk factors, and blood lipid levels. Diet and exercise are the cornerstones of the program. All in all, you are healthier if you follow a low-fat, high-fiber diet and get adequate exercise.

This extra glucose and fat is the causes behind heart diseases of diabetic patients. All this fat and glucose in blood disturbs many function at eyes, kidneys, nervous system, heart and other parts. This leads to abnormal growth in the cells or hardening the cells. Fat in blood leads to decrease the inner radius of nervous. The vital coronary blocks stops the supply of oxygen to the cells and this leads to death of this coronary, finally leads to hear diseases
