Mudra for Cretinism (video)

Cretinism is a condition in which hypothyroidism occurs at an early stage of life. It is a disorder of the thyroid in which the levels of thyroid hormone in the blood are low from birth (hypothyroidism). If left untreated, it can lead to physical and mental disabilities. It is also known as congenital hypothyroidism.

 

In general, it affects the 3,000 live births and is more common in mountain areas such as the Himalayas, mainland China or Africa.

 

Thyroid hormone

The thyroid gland is a butterfly-shaped organ located in the lower part of the neck and its main function is to produce thyroxine hormones. Iodine and the presence of certain enzymes are essential for the production of thyroxine hormones. These hormones are responsible for the regulation of body growth, general metabolism and brain development.

Signs and symptoms of cretinism.


The signs and symptoms of cretinism may vary according to the age of onset.

The first signs of early childhood

  1. Slow motion

  2. Development of dry skin.

  3. Drooling mouth open

  4. Abnormal physical properties

  5. A short and wide face

  6. Low hair line

  7. Lower jaw undeveloped

  8. Upper jaw too developed

  9. Thick, broad and protruding tongue (macroglossia)

  10. Bones short and thickened.

  11. Delayed tooth break



Signs and symptoms of later stages.



  • Delayed learning ability

  • Reduced intelligence

  • Difficulty breathing

  • Slow pulse

  • Very little wine

  • Sometimes newborns have a normal weight, normal height and normal symptoms.


Therefore, the checks are usually made.

Join the tips of the middle finger, index finger and thumb finger to form Vata-Kaarak mudra.

You have to do mudras with both the hands.

Just a simple touch of the tips of the fingers is enough to get results of mudra practice.

Duration of mudra practice


45 minutes of regular practice or 15 minutes thrice a day.

Precautions


If you are a Vata excess person then do these mudras in moderation only.
