A holistic treatment is an art and science of healing wherein the approach of healing of a person is as a whole, from physical, mental to the spiritual level. Holistic treatment has proven to be long lasting, preventing from reoccurring and promoting a person to optimum levels of life, which also empowers the psychological levels preventing the mind dwelling back or being concerned about the illness making a person feel grateful, as we all know and have been told by our elders that happiness and being content are one of the greatest tools to cure oneself.

Holistic treatment has been a very long custom in India and also in many other countries like China, Japan, Africa, South America and East European countries. A holistic way of treatment is considered better and a long lasting healing as it heals a person from the core levels of existence. Talking about the holistic treatment, it is still being practised widely by many researchers and doctors. also, the still existing ancient tribes stick to the practices of healing left behind by the great people in the past. This custom of healing has been researched by many scientists and has also been proven that it is one of the best ways to heal a human being as the patients are also given unconditional love and care making one feel happy from the very inside.

Ayurveda and its relation to Holistic Treatment :

One of the highlighted and well-known treatment in the world of Holistic Treatment is Ayurveda, as we all know it is an ancient and one of the holiest things, respected and practised by millions across the world and is also one of the earliest kind of treatment ever recorded in the history of mankind. The term Ayurveda itself means the science of life.

The methods and procedures that are practiced in Ayurveda focus on healing the person from the very core levels of humans I;e from the levels of mind and spirit rather than directly going for the physical cure and this is one of the main reasons Ayurveda is considered a holistic treatment. And the philosophy of Ayurveda is based on Samkhya which covers all the human organs, mind, energy and the movements. When taken all these aspects of Ayurveda into consideration, it clearly portrays the image of Holistic Treatment.
After the growing popularity of Ayurveda outside India in the late 20th century, California State has established a State University : California College of Ayurveda entirely for the Study of Ayurveda which has given the roots of scientific research on Ayurveda proving its potential and heights in treating human beings.

Many types of research are being done and are being explored on understanding the properties of Ayurveda and its holistic methods. It has also been proven many times that Ayurveda is the most effective and long-lasting way to heal a person,

Recent research published in Journal of Ayurveda and Holistic Medicine about Gynaecological disorders, Osteoarthritis, Back Pain, Pregnancy have been proven to be cured by Holistic Approach of Ayurveda which has not only been to be cured but also have been known to stop it from reoccurring in the future. A similar research conducted by the Tokyo University has also proven that Ashwagandha, a medicinal herb, prevents cancer by slowing the process of melanocyte stem cell phosphorylation, eventually blocking and preventing cancer.
In one of the recent articles published in IJRAP, talks about one of the most common diseases in the world, Diabetes. The researchers and have proven that it can be controlled by practicing Ayurveda.

Research centers like Central Council for Research in  Ayurvedic Sciences, NIA and NCBI have been doing some great work in understanding and proving the need and importance of implementing Ayurveda in our daily lives.

We all by now understand the importance of Ayurveda, a Holistic Treatment and how great and beneficial it would be implementing it in our daily lives, not only for the person, as having Ayurvedic practices in our daily lives would also purify the mind, influencing the one’s around us and finally in having a better society to live in free of all the negative aspects. It is our duty to respect and start implementing Ayurveda in our daily lives. Ayurveda has also been known to have less adverse effects than the general medication. There is further research that has to be done on proving out the world, that Ayurveda - A Holistic way of treatment is better in comparative to all other treatments.
