Fevers

Chirata is useful in the treatments of all the fevers. It works either singly and with the combination of Picrohiza, Tinospora, Bittergourd or Snake gourd. Take Chirata and make a decoction from it and drink thrice to persistent and chronic fevers.

Worms

To remove worms in children make a decoction of Chirata leaves sweetened with palm candy to children afflicted with worms at bedtime.

Skin Diseases

Pasted with oil and little pepper seeds and applied on itchy patches, Chirata purifies blood and heals and soothes rashes and irritation.To prevent skin rashes take Chirata berries regularly.

Swelling

Powder the dried plant of Chirata and ginger take one teaspoon of this mixture with some rice wash twice a day to reduce swelling of feet, hands or face.

Bleeding disorders

Make a mixture of equal quantity sandal and Chirata and take half teaspoon of this mixture with cool water three times a day to control excessive bleeding.

Purify breast milk

To keep breast milk free from infections and to improve secretion and flow of milk, drink a decoction of Chirata every day for a week.

Mouth Ulcers

Soak the berries in buttermilk overnight and then dry and powder them for storage. Whenever necessary, fry a tsp of this powder in ghee and mix with rice before to soothe oral ulcers.
