Benefits of Almond or Baddam

Almond or Badam has many health benefits. Its kernel and oil are widely used in Ayurveda.

It's kernel is sweet thermogenic, aphrodisiac, laxative, diuretic, nutritive, demulcent and nervine tonic.

Almond oil is sweet, cooling, antispasmodic, sedative, diuretic and rejuvenating.

 

 

How  to use Almond

Delayed Puberty

Almond is useful to treat delayed puberty. Crush few almonds, along with egg yolk, gingelly powder and one teaspoon of honey in milk and give it to the girl who is with delayed onset of puberty, every day. This ensures good overall development during adolescence.

Pregnancy

Almond is also useful in pregnancy; it is highly nutritive and an ideal source of energy for pregnant women. To get the best results, soak almonds in milk, add a pinch of saffron and drink the tasty preparation every day for nourishment both to the mother and the to-be child.

To increase vitality

Almond is useful to improve health and vitality. Almond in milk also increase libido and enhance general sexual performance in cases of frigidity too.

Brain

Almond is an excellent brain food. It is famous for its property as a nervine tonic. Rich in nourishment and essential fats, almonds serve to enhance memory and intelligence. Soak- 5 to 6 almonds in water and eat after removing the kernel.

Body cooling

Badam kheer is a well-known preparation made by grinding almonds and mixing in milk. This cools the body and apart from relieving brain exhaustion and improving functioning.

As it contains copper and iron, it helps in systhesising blood haemoglobin as it is a potent aphrodisiac, its regular use increases sexual power.
