Hypertension or high blood pressure is the leading risk factor for death and heart problems. Latest studies reported that young adults with pre-hypertension, or slightly elevated blood pressure, are at a very high risk of hypertension.The major causes is eating meals in restaurants. In the meal out side there is high calories and higher saturated fat and salt - eating patterns that are associated with high blood pressure.

For the study published in the American Journal of Hypertension, researchers surveyed almost 501 University going adults in the age group of 18 to 40 in Singapore and collected data on blood pressure, body mas index and life style, including meals eaten awat from home and physical activity levels.
They found 27.4 percent people in a total population have pre-hypertension.38 % of people ate more than 12 meals away from home in a week. Pre-hypertension is more prevalent in men than in women.
People with pre-hypertension or hypertension were more likely to eat more meals away from home per week, have a higher mean body mass index, have lower physical activity and be smokers. Even eating just one meal out side home raised pre-hypertension by 6 %.
