Half Spinal Twist Yoga Pose
Ardha-Matsyendrasana was first taught by the great master of Hatha yoga, Yogi Matsyendra. It is half pose of full Matsyendrasana. There is a legend that he overheard this method from the mouth of Lord Shiva who was narrating it to his spouse Parvati. He was then wandering in the guise of a fish.

How to perform The half spinal twist yoga pose:

Sit with legs together. Then bend the left leg and place the left heel firmly against the perennial space, the space between the anus and the generative organ. Then place the right ankle in conjunction with the left thigh(on the out side). Keep the hands on the floor. Twist the body towards the right, placing the left hand at the right hand. Keep the left front of the right foot by the knee. Turn the face to the ri9ght bringing it in line with the right shoulder.

This yoga posture can be repeated on the other side also, by changing the position of the hands and feet.
