Ayurveda Treatment for Sleeplessness caused due to Mental Stress.

Sleeplessness is a disorder where one can hardly sleep and wake up suddenly in the middle of the night disturbing the quality of sleep. Lack of sleep can result in tiredness, lack of concentration, depression, etc.
What are the causes of sleeplessness?
Causes for the sleepless night have many reasons.
Sometimes an underlying sleep disorder like Obstructive Sleep Apnea(OSA) ,depression, anaemia and Insomnia. We are not going in detail regarding medical disorder in this article.
One of the most common causes for Sleepless night in modern times is Stress. Underlying stress and overactive brain can cause sleep disorder.
Prevention:
As per Ayurveda Vatta Pra kurta people may suffer from sleepless night due to their nature. They should try to balance the Vata dosha by doing mudras and taking foods that do not aggravate vatta dosha. Performing the following mudras based on your Ayurveda nature is suggested for sleeplessness: Vaayu mudra , Vaata-naashak mudra , Prithvi mudra, Kapha-Kaarak mudra
Avoid alcohol and spicy foods.
Taking lukewarm water throughout the day will be beneficial.

Avoid watching TV, computer games, cell phones in the night.
Taking a warm bath before going to bed would be beneficial.
You should always make sleep a priority and keep a regular routine.
Alternative medicine for Sleepless night (Ayurveda treatment):
1. Take Amla(Phyllanthus) powder:50 gm
Amla fruit relieves stress and is well known for cure sleep disorders like insomnia.
2. Make Brahmi powder: 50 gm
Brahmi acts a brain tonic and famous for stress reduction properties. It decreases the cortisol level that is known as the stress hormone.
3. Take Vacha powder:50 gm
Vacha is known for treating nervous system and mental disorders.
Mix well all the three powders.
Daily before going to bed, take one teaspoon of this powder and boil it in a cup of water until the water becomes half. Mix candy sugar with boiled mixture and consume it when slightly hot.
You should visit your doctor and take advice before taking any alternative medicine as there could always be an underlying health problem such as depression, insomnia or any serious disorder.
