Sanskrit ; Baddha - tied, Kona - angle, Asana -  Pronounced BAH-dah cone-AHS-anna

This asana is named after the Sanskrit words baddha, which means angle or division of bonded Kona and means of asana pose. Most shoemakers sit in this position in their daily tasks. Another name for Baddha Konasana is the Cobbler pose. It is also called butterfly placement because the open hips, which are connected by the feet and movements from top to bottom, resemble the asana of a butterfly in motion.
