Hala asana




Hala asana or plough pose 

In this asana the body assumes the shape of a plough that is the reason the asana is called as hala asana or plough pose. Normally this asana is performed immediately after sarvanga asana  or shoulder stand. 


How to do hala asana or plough pose:

1.To do this asana  first you have to  perform Sarvanga Asana

2.Then keeping the legs together and  bring them down until the toes touch the ground. 

3.Keep the arms stretched on the ground. 

4. Chest is  pressed against the chin . The mind is fixed on the space between eyebrows.


Duration :  This asana cane be do Initially for  few second and gradually the period may be raise up to two minutes.


After the  Hala asana or plough pose , come back to the pose of Sarvanga asana. Then slowly bring your legs down to  the ground.


Benefits:  Hala asana or plough pose  stretches the muscles of the back, the spinal column receives a good supply of blood and the thyroid glands gets a good massage. It checks early ossification of the vertebral bones and controls  obesity, helps to remove diseases of the spleen ,liver  and stomach.
